VEX World Championship Qualification Spots - Updated 2/14/2018

NOTE:  The event capacity has been temporarily increased to allow teams that are competing on 2/17/2018 to qualify to the State Championship.  After the results from these events are uploaded, the event capacity will be reduced to the number of qualified teams or 42, whichever is higher.  If less than 42 teams qualify through awards, then the remaining spots will be given to teams from the WA HS Robot Skills list.

This event will qualify Washington High School VRC teams to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, KY on April 25-28, 2018.  The following awards will earn VEX Robotics World Championship spots:

  • (1) High School Excellence Award
  • (3) Tournament Champions
  • (3) Tournament Finalists
  • (1) Design Award
  • (6) Semi Finalist

If a team double qualfies for the VEX Robotics World Championships, then the Regional Support Manager will use the Washington VRC Global Skills list to determine the next qualified team from the appropriate grade level indicated on the VRC Championship Qualifying Criteria.  World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at RobotEvents.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

If you have any questions about the qualification process, please contact your Regional Support Manager:
