Friday afternoon, Jan 19th 2018
1:30 pm Begin setting up in gym and pit areas starting
5:30 pm robot inspection begins (teams are encouraged to do this early)
5:30 pm courts are set up for practice.
7:30 pm shut down and close up the school. Out of town teams head to hotel and dinner.
Saturday Competition, Jan 20th 2018
7:30am Doors open.
8:00am to 9:15am Inspection continues from previous night.
8:45 am Opening ceremonies, Driver information
9:15 am Qualifying matches begin. 5 minute rounds, 2 courts alternating,
9:30 am PIZZA Order forms completed and handed to concession for lunch pickup
12:30 pm to 1:00 pm Lunch time. There will be a concession for students to purchase food and drinks in addition to the PIZZA Order. Coaches, Volunteers, receive a free lunch in coach’s room, Courtesy of IDesign
1:00 pm to 2:05 pm Qualifying matches continue
2:15 pm Alliance partners are picked, 24 teams advance to playoffs, 16 to consolation round
3:00 pm to 4:15 pm Elimination rounds
4:30 pm Awards ceremony
5:00 pm Distant travelers leave (there is a 7pm Departure bay ferry)
5:00 pm Clean up by local coaches, parents and teams.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In case of an incident or circumstance effecting this event, PYRS will undertake three notification strategies.
- An advisory describing the situation (e.g. inclement weather) and the action being taken (e.g. event cancellation) will be posted to this RobotEvents event listing under this tab.
- The same information will also be e-mailed to all registered team coaches.
- An incident notification will also be sent to all twitter accounts following the PYRSReporter
Refund and Payment Policies
Event cancellation
Should the event be cancelled, registration fees will be refunded to all teams in full
(less RECF administration fees if initially paid by credit card).
Team cancellation
Registered teams needing to cancel will be eligible for a full refund if notification of cancellation is submitted prior to freezeing (publication of) the qualification match schedule.
Refund terms are as above.
Full refunds (or event credits) for teams that have paid by cash or cheque,
Less RECF administration fees if registration was initially paid by credit card.
Please note: We consider our cancellation and refund terms to be very lenient. PYRS reserves the right to withdrawn registration privileges of teams found to be abusing these terms (e.g. repeated team cancellations due to speculative registration).
