General Info

General Info

  • 4 practice Fields.  4 Skills Fields.
  • Teams will be assigned a one-hour time-slot and arena for their Skills runs.  This may dictate arrival times.
  • Email time preference.   Once time slots begin to fill up, time slots will be assigned.
  • Arrive at least one hour ahead of your time slot for inspection and practice.
  • Inspections will be ongoing.
  • Once Skills runs are complete, teams are free to leave.

Doors Open at 7:00 AM

  • Enter through Door "F" (Facing US Hwy 6).
  • Bus and parking available in lot at Door "F".
  • Student waivers must be completed online.
  • Check in immediately upon entry.
  • Pits and Practice Fields are in the Cafeteria.
  • All 4 Skills Fields are located in the Robotics Room (Follow the signs) 
  • Full Concessions Available.
  • Facility is ADA accessible.
  • Restrooms located near registration
  • Spectator Seating is limited to teams competing in their time slots.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Doors Open, Check-in, Schedules, Ongoing Inspection, and Practice.

4 Fields in action per w/ 2 teams each, per hour.  (8 teams active)

Back to back runs are permitted.

  • 8:00-8:55                           Skills time slot 1.             
  • 9:00-9:55                           Skills time slot 2. 
  • 10:00-10:55                       Skills time slot 3. 
  • 11:00-11:55                       Skills time slot 4. 
  • 12:00 PM-12:55                Skills time slot 5.
  • 1:00-1:55                           Skills time slot 6.
  • 2:00-2:55                           Skills time slot 7.
  • 3:00-3:55                           Skills time slot 8.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Tournament cancellation by the Host will result in a refund, less the $5 RobotEvent fees.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

If your team's vacancy cannot be filled from the Waitlist, a refund will not be issued.

 

Health and Safety Policies

  • Simply put, if anyone on the team is ill or has symptoms of illness, please do attend the tournament.
  • Should the health climate change, Porter County Health protocols will be followed.

From the South:

·        I-65 N to exit 258, E 37th Ave/Ridge Rd/US 6 in Hobart.

·        Drive 7.5 miles East Portage High School.

From the East:

·        US 30 West to IN 49 North @ Valparaiso.

·        IN 49 North to US Highway 6 West exit.

·        Drive 6 miles West to Portage High School

Several restaurants and shopping stores are located right near Portage High School.
