General Info

This event is NOT and invitational.  We ask that teams who are qualified for the Ohio middle school state championship before Jan 8th not register, however teams who are qualified that register will not be removed or penalized in any way.  We ask that teams who qualify for States prior to this event consider stepping down to let an unqualified team from the waitlist take their spot, but we will not require any team to do so.

Concessions avalible. Lunch will be provided to teams, coaches and registered volunteers.  Information about lunch will be emailed out to coaches closer to the time of the event.

This event will also be live-steamed.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

7:00 am - Staff and volunteers arrive for competition

8:00 am - Doors open/teams arrive/robot inspection begins

9:00 am - Drivers meetings

9:15 am - Qualification matches begin/skills fields open

12:00 pm - Lunch served, matches will NOT break

3:00 pm - Qualification matches end/skills close

3:15 pm - Alliance selection

3:30 pm - Elimination matches

4:30 pm - Finals and Awards

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather conditions or an emergency causing delay or cancellation, all coaches will be contected by email to be informed of the situation.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:

Coaches are welcome to request a refund but none will be issued automatically.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
