Event Overview
The Middle School SKILLS ONLY at Franklin High School Event is an exciting opportunity for middle school VEX V5 teams to focus exclusively on honing their skills and recording official scores. This event allows teams to participate in Driver Skills and Autonomous Skills challenges without the added pressure of qualifying or finals matches. It’s an excellent chance for your students to get on the skills leaderboard in a supportive, low-stress environment!
Event Details
- Date: Saturday, December 14th, 2024
- Location: Franklin High School Magnet Cafeteria
- Address: 900 North Resler Drive, El Paso, Texas 79912
- Registration Fee: $50 per team
Agenda (Subject to Change)
- 7:00 AM: Team Check-In and Inspections Begin
- 7:30 AM: Skills Runs Begin (Each team will have up to 3 Driver Skills runs and up to 3 Autonomous Skills runs)
- Award: The team with the top skills score will receive a printed certificate; no trophies will be given.
- 9:00 AM: Event Concludes (Please note: We MUST vacate the cafeteria by 9 AM to ensure a smooth transition for the High School tournament)
What to Expect
- Teams will have the opportunity to compete in up to 3 Driver Skills runs and up to 3 Autonomous Skills runs to get their best scores recorded.
- There will be no judging or judged awards for this event. The only award will be given to the team with the top skills score. The team will receive a printed certificate; no trophies will be given.
- Scores from this event will be officially recorded on RobotEvents.com. While this event is not a qualifying event for regional advancement, recorded scores may be used to help determine invitations to the Middle School Texas Region 1 Championship later in the season.
- Field Reset Participation: Teams must help reset the field elements after each run to keep the event moving efficiently.

- Limited Capacity: Space is limited, and teams are encouraged to register early to secure their spot.
- Head Referee: The Middle School Skills-Only event will have its own dedicated Head Referee to ensure fair and efficient skills runs.

We will follow EPISD directives. The event will be rescheduled in the event that weather causes it to be cancelled.
Cancellation Policy
If the Event Partner cancels the event: There will be a full refund.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: There will be no refund.
