General Info

Thank you for joining us in the Brighton High Vex High Stakes Robotic Tournament.

We wiil contact registered teams closer to the event with more details, including directions,times, food ordering information.

Participants are required to submit the VEX liability release form electronically.

Physical Notebooks must be submitted for judging.  Please print out digital notebooks and put them in a binder for submission.

Team registrations must be paid in full by January 18 unless other arrangements have been made with Brighton High. Teams not paid  by that date will moved to the waitlist.

If the tournament is full, please add your team to the waitlist.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Saturday, February 1 Tentative Schedule

7:00- 8:30  Doors Open / Check-in  

7:30-8:45  Inspection Opens

7:30    Skills is open ( closed during opening ceremonies/drivers meeting)

9:00  Opening Ceremonies / Drivers Meeting  ( Skills is Closed)

9:30  Qualification Matches Begin 

12:00- 1:15      Lunch - Skills are Open

1:15-     Complete Qualification Matches  

              Skills will Close at the end of the last match

2:30       Alliance Selection

3:00       Elimination Matches 

4:30        Awards

 

           

Volunteer

Volunteers ae essential to a successful tournament. We would love to have a least 1 volunteer per team. Please consider volunteering and encouraging family members to give of their team.  No prior experience is necessary.  Volunteers will receive any training necessary, and full-day volunteers will get pizza.  Thank you for your time.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event that an emergency arises or inclement weather threatens to affect the tournament, email notifications will be sent.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be issued if event is cancelled by EP. Refunds will NOT include the $5.00 processing fee collected by Robot Events.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

As a general rule, refunds will NOT be issued. However, we understand that unforseen circumstances come up.  Please contact us as a partial refund may be possible if your spot can be filled by another team.  

All registrations must be paid in full two weeks after team is registered or immediately if after January 18, 2025., unless other arrangements have been made with EP.  Unpaid teams will be moved to the waitlist two weeks after registration amd may be added back in IF there is room on the roster.  If your registration payment process takes longer than two weeks, clear communication will  keep teams from being moved to the Waitlist.

Judging Format

 

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
