The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.
For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer
1/9/25 UPDATE: We are looking for two experienced judges (16 years or older and not a part of a V5RC team) and a few field resetters (perfect for the younger siblings). All volunteers will be provided lunch and a fast pass so your team can skip the skills or inspection lines. Each fast pass is worth one skip. Please contact Kellyann Goring at 352-408-2811 to find out how you can volunteer at this event.
Previous information: Volunteers will be needed for multiple roles: Check in, Queuing, Robot Inspection, Scorers, Field Resetters.
If you wish to volunteer, email [email protected]
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event of an emergency or bad weather, Event planner will reach out to teams if adjustments to dates or times need to be made.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Entry will be refunded for each team who had registered for this event minus $5 administration fee.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
No refunds
Payment Deadline January 3rd, 2025
If your team has not paid by the deadline the Event Partner reserves the right to put the team on the waitlist
Judging Format
January 8 UPDATE -
In an effort to mainstream the workload on coaches and teams, Engineer and Design Notebooks are now a digital entry. Please make sure your teams’ links are uploaded to RobotEvents by the end of the day Friday. They will not be accessed until the day of the event, so teams can continue to make their entries as they may have already planned.
Please contact Kellyann at 352-408-2811 if you need any assistance with this.
No longer applicable: All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
