General Info

Welcome to Franklin Junior/Senior High School's Clash at the Castle - V5RC Tournament!  This event is primarily for schools located in Western Pennsylvania. 

The event will be locked for Western PA Region Teams ONLY unless all spots have not been filled by the registration deadline.  If your team is from outside Western Pennsylvania, please add your team to the "waitlist".  As we near the registration deadline we will begin moving teams off the registration list and contacting those teams.

*This event is FREE to PA Rural Robotics Member Schools.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

8:00 AM - Doors Open

8:00 - 9:00 AM - Inspections

9:00 AM - Drivers Meeting

9:15 AM - Skills Start (Each team gets a maximum to 3 runs each per drive and autonomous)

9:15AM - 12:00 PM - Qualifying Matches

12:00 - 12:30 PM - Lunch Break

12:30 - 2:30 PM - Qualifying Matches Continued

2:00 PM - Skills Field Closes

2:30 - 3:00 PM - Alliance Selection

3:00 - 4:00 PM - Finals

4:00 PM - Awards Ceremony

Volunteer

We will be utilizing volunteers from our school, but will also need coaches and mentors to fill roles when they are at the competition. Responsibilities for volunteers will be determined after registration has closed, but may occur as late as competition day.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event bad weather or emergency closure, event partners will notify coaches via email.

Refund and Payment Policies

Refunds will only be issued in the event of a weather cancellation or extenuating circumstance as determined by the Event Partner.  You may contact Alyssa Mansfield to discuss circumstances.

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
