Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Volunteer

We are always in need of Judges for the Judges Award, Design Award, and Excellence Award. No experience is needed. In fact, sometimes it helps to not have experience as it brings a fresh perspective to the judging process.

Having additional parents to help manage getting teams to the queueing tables is also appreciated.

Younger siblings are more than welcome to serve as part of the field reset team.

Thanks!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, coaches will be contacted by John Cochran or Jennifer Baxter as soon as the City of Austin or Austin Independent School District make official decisions. Coaches will then be responsible for contacting parents of their teams to communicate an Emergency/Bad Weather cancellation. Coaches, please make sure your phone numbers are current in Robot Events as this is what information is provided to Event Hosts.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:

Refends will be provided from Murchison Middle School Robotics or Robot Events depending on whether payment has been made from Robot Events to MMS Robotics.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will be provided up to three days prior to the event.
