General Info
Welcome to the NSW Middle School State Championship.
To enter this event you must have qualified from an event held in NSW during the 24-25 season.
This event will directly qualify to the VEX Robotics Australian National Championships 24-25 in Sydney, New South Wales.
Due to the size of this event, we request that each team provides a volunteer to assist. Please refer to https://www.sydneyrobotics.com.au/volunteering for more information.
Event Location: The NSW State Championships will be held in the Great Hall of Knox Grammar School.
Schedule: The competition will begin promptly at 9:45AM, and we kindly request all teams to plan their arrival before this time for Check in and Inspection. The event is expected to conclude at approximately 4:30 PM. Please note that these timings are subject to change closer to the event, depending on the final number of teams registered. We will notify you promptly if any schedule adjustments occur.
Please make sure you are well-versed in the Code of Conduct Rules and Student-Centred Policy.
Payment for attending the event will be through a Humantix link provided shortly.
Before attending events this season please ensure you have completed the following:
- Read the Commitment to Coach Excellence.
- Distribute the Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policies to team members & parents.
- Distribute your program’s game manual(s) to team members
- Review the Qualifying Criteria for the 24/25 season.

This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Volunteer
We appreciate your support in advance! Volunteering gives you a chance to be a vital part of the competiton, have fun and see the inner workings of a Tournament.
There are no age limits to volunteer, we will make space for everyone.
Without our amazing volunteers, this event is not possible.
Please note, all volunteers will be contacted with training calls and links to handy information before the event.
Volunteer Roles:
- Score kepper Referee: Volunteers will assist in refereeing matches, ensuring fair play, and maintaining game rules adherence.
- Queuing and Inspection: Volunteers will help sign off teams using a checklist, to insure all robots meet the standard build rules. Volunteers will manage team queuing before their matches to maintain the schedual.
- Judging: Volunteers will evaluate team performance, innovation, and design during the competition.
Please note that all volunteer roles will have experienced leaders who will guide and support them throughout their duties.
Volunteer Submission: If your team is willing to provide volunteers for the event, please submit the online form at: https://www.sydneyrobotics.com.au/volunteering. Kevin Li from Sydney Robotics Academy will coordinate the volunteer assignments and provide further instructions.
We greatly appreciate your team's support and willingness to contribute to the success of the robotics competition. Your volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring a fair, organized, and enjoyable experience for all participants. Thank you for your dedication and assistance!
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the case of Emergency or Bad weather, this event will be cancelled.
Refund and Payment Policies
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Refunds are not available.
Judging Format
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Digital notebooks are due no later than 9pm Friday the 8th of November.
