General Info

Please join us for the Massachusetts VEX V5 Robotics Competition Middle School State Championship 2025!

Our event being held at Walsh Middle School, 301 Brook Street, Framingham, Massachusetts, 01701

Make up date(s) are scheduled for weekend of March 1&2

Our event will be held in a single level of the main wing with all spaces interconnected with dedicated hallways. Competition will be in Large Gym - spectators should use the main hallway to the Large Gym.  The Team Pit area is in the Small Gym, teams will be directed there upon arrival.  Cafeteria space will be open for spectators and team members to enjoy their food.  A concession stand will be in the Cafe lobby area.

Ample parking is available at Walsh Middle School.  Teams and those with limited mobility should use the driveway circle to unload.  Handicap spots are in the small parking area alongside the building.

Lunch will be provided on Saturday and Sunday to student team members and their adult coach.  An on-site concession stand will be available for those wishing to purchase light snacks during the day.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Saturday February 15:

7:00 AM - Venue Opens
7:30 AM - Check In & Technical Inspection Opens
8:30 AM - Check in Closes (All teams not checked in will be dropped from the schedule)
8:30 AM - Opening Ceremonies and Event Meeting
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Practice Matches
10:45 AM - 5:00 PM  Qualifying Matches and Skills runs (lunch will be delivered to teams arond noon)

Sunday February 16:

8:30 AM - Opening Ceremonies and Event Meeting
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM  Qualifying Matches and Skills runs
12:00 PM - Skills field closes / lunch break
1:00 PM - Alliance Selection / Elimination Rounds / Awards
3:00 PM End of Awards

Please contact Event Partner to volunteer at event.  

Coaches and adult family members welcomed to help out in key operation roles:

  • Scoring Referees
  • Judges
  • Team Queuing

  • Set up and Tear down of event
  • Practice and Skills field management

 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If there is a venue closure, we will post it here and send out an email blast to the primary contacts of teams with information about rescheduling event. 

 

 

Refund and Payment Policies

No refunds will be made after Registration closes February 9, 2025 5pm unless the event has been cancelled and can not be made up on the designated makeup date of March 1&2, 2025.

Teams with unpaid balances on RobotEvents.com will be placed on the waitlist one week prior to event, unless they have made payment arrangements with the Event Partner.

Refunds will be issued within two months after event date.

All refunds will be less the $5 administrative fee from RECF.

Judging Format

Electronic Engineering Notebook Submissions:

Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the Event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted electronically for evaluation.  Teams must submit links to their Engineering Notebooks Submissions on RobotEvents.com by 2/4 5pm EDT.  Teams without notebook links in RobotEvents by this deadline will not be considered for Judged awards that require an Engineering Notebook.
