General Info

Welcome to the Western Pacific Robotics Academy (WPRA) 

Please joing us at our expanded facility we now have 2 fields. One field will run qualification matches all day and one will run skills. 

Skills: This tournament will offer skills all day (except lunch). 

Judging: This tournament will also offer judging. Teams are encouraged to come prepared with their physical engineering notebooks. 

Travel/Parking: Search "Western Pacific Robotics Academy" in Google maps for exact location. Please refrain from parking infront of loading areas. Free parking allowed in any stalls with white lines. 

Lunch: We will do a pizza order. There will be a concession of snacks and drinks. 

Clean Up: All teams, please throw your garbage away, recycle your cans, and place pizza boxes outside the door.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

9:00 am - Doors Open, Check-in, and Inspection 

Skills Field: 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Judging: 10:00 - 12:00 pm (pick time slot on white board) - will run after lunch if more spots needed

Qualification matches: 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

5:00 - 5:15 - Alliance Selection

5:15 - 6:15 - Finals Matches

6:15 - 6:30 - Awards (Please note this is only an estimated time for pick up if a full event)

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of an emergency/bad weather, the tournament will be postponed/cancelled and teams will be notified via phone/email. 

Refund and Payment Policies

Cancellation: Teams can cancel with 1 week notice. Teams that cancel with less than 1 week notice, will be billed for the full cost of the event if the waitlist is exhausted and your spot is empty.

Payment collected at check in on day of tournament. 

Payment Methods: Cheque is preffered made payable to Western Pacific Robotics Academy Society, E-transfer, Cash. (USA teams please bring $100 CDN or $80 USD). 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
