General Info
Welcome to Redbird Robotics VEX V5 Robotics Competition!
Hello Teams,
Thank you for signing up for our event. Please complete your payment before the event payment deadline, January 11th.
Participant Release Form:
Participant Releases are Electronic and must be submitted by January 11th. The link is the Document Tab.
Notebooks:
If your team is submitting a notebook please have a digital version submitted on RobotEvents by January 11th.
Inspections:
Coaches, Please help speed up our inspection time in the morning of by checking your students robots prior to the day of the event and have the team members update the Firmware to the brain. Also, make sure students robots will only have one visible color for the license plate showing at a time. Inspection must include poly sheet diagram for the inspectors to ensure within limits. If anything is in question of legality, please be able to prove that it is.
Team Meeting:
Our Head Referees and scorekeepers will be well versed in the rules and highly passionate about the game. We encourage your teams to bring all your questions to the meeting and we will do our best to offer clarity.
Skills Field:
As soon as you have passed inspection, your team may enter the skills field line. We will have the GPS CODE wrapped around the perimeter. Skills field will close promptly at the start of Elimination matches. Those running skills will be brought over to the elimination matches to help referee.
Qualification Matches:
Our Goal is start matches at 9:30 AM. Each team will have at least 6 qualification matches.
Lunch:
We currently have a Lunch break scheduled for our awesome volunteers from 12:00-12:30 pm, but this is subject to change.
Food Pizza
Pizza and drink order form will be sent out January 6th and need to be sumbitted by January 10th.
Due to UofL Policy, we are not permitted to provide outside food though we have an excpetion for pizza. There is also a food court in the building though lunch time is limited and there are other events in the building.
Chick-fil-A, Wendy's, and Eiffel Pizza are going to be open but there may be long lines.
Alliance Selection:
Our Goal is start this process around 4:00 PM.
Awards:
We will be awarding 7 Judged honors (Excellence, Design, Innovate, Think, Amaze, Build, and Judges) along with Tournament Champions, Tournament Finalists, and Skills Champion. If we have enough Middle school teams sign up we will do High School and Middle School Excellence Awards.

Volunteer
Volunteer Coordinator: Gary Osborne
Sign-Up: Redbird Robotics Competition Volunteer
Experience Level: No previous experience is needed for most volunteer positions.
Time Commitment: You can register for an entire day, or just a portion of the day as your schedule permits for most positions.
Meals: Lunch and hospitality area provided for all volunteers.
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
The event may be rescheduled in case of emergency/bad weather. Coaches will be contacted if issues arise.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
- All but 5.00 dollars will be returned to teams
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
- Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than two weeks before the competition. Refunds will be sent out from the event to teams who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through robotevents we must receive the funds from robotevents first, this sometimes takes 3-6 months. Refund from robotevents will deduct 10%.

Judging Format
Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
