If a team double qualifies (wins multiple qualifying awards) at an Event Region Championship, a VEX Robotics World Championship invitation will be awarded to the next highest team on the Robot Skills Challenge list at that event who did not win a qualifying award. Scores from the Championship event will be included on the World Robot Skills Standings for consideration in this process. Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at robotevents.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.
World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

This event is sure to be a fact-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

Don't forget items you may need day of! Items such as: Safety glasses, tools, batteries, chargers, controllers, cables, banners and anything your team may need in your pit.

Be sure to prep for Remote Team Interviews. Sign up will be going out to all coaches closer to event time.If you do not sign up for an interview slot, you will not be able to be considered for awards requiring team interviews. Also make sure your engineering notebook is submitted via Robotevents.com!

Note: This is a two day event, however Friday is optional attendance to Teams. The drivers meeting will be held in person on Friday with a video read ahead. The Drivers meeting will have the following options for viewing: on youtube via the Robotics Institute Live Stream , Google Meets meeting for live questions, or in person. A form will be sent out to qualified teams to fill out with their questions ahead of the event. More information will be available closer to the event.

Get Inspired and Have Fun! Be a part of the excitement by joining a team of volunteers who help in a variety of ways to make this event a success for the students involved.

Experience level: No previous experience is needed for most volunteer positions, and you can even bring your kids for a family activity (for example, Field Resetter is an ideal position for young children).
Time Commitment: You can register for an entire day, or just a portion of the day as your schedule permits for most positions.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event that there is severe weather on the day of the event all registered teams will be notified of a cancelation via e-mail.
We will also do our best to reschedule the competition for another day.
Refund and Payment Policies
Event Cancelation
In the case that the event can not be run on the scheduled date we will try our best to reschedule; however, if we are not able to reschedule the event we will issue a refund to all teams registered.
Team Cancelation
Refunds will ONLY be issued if a team notifies the event partner at least two weeks prior to the event registration deadline.

The live stream for this event will be avalible on our Robotics institute of Maine Youtube channel. The channel is avalible here.
Judging Format
Remote Team Interview Sessions:
Teams will sign up for 30 min time slots. This will give teams ample time to set up and have a 10-15 min conversation with the judges. These slots must be signed up for in advance. If a team does not sign up for one of the time slots prior to the tournament, they are not eligible for any awards requiring a team interview. A coach is required to be in attendance at the session. This means either on camera with the team or on camera on the call with the judges. Each team will have same amount of time to chat with the judges. These remote sessions will take the place of initial team interviews by the judges.
Please sign up for remote judging slots. Slot sign up will be open starting closer to the event.

Digital Engineering Notebooks:
Teams will need to submit their engineering notebooks to robotevents.com prior to the event for review. Notebooks are able to be updated after the link has been posted, but digital engineering notebook judging will be occurring during the week prior to the event, so please keep that in mind when updating the notebooks. Remote digital engineering notebook judging will occur prior to States in a random order.

Note: Physical engineering notebooks will not be considered during the judging process. For teams that have physical engineering notebooks they will need to be scanned and submitted via the digital engineering notebook submission process.
Remote Digital Engineering Notebook Judging
● Digital Engineering Notebooks are judged remotely before the event
● Teams will upload links to their engineering notebook documents via RobotEvents.com
● Digital Notebooks should be freely viewable by the judges by using the link.
Teams should ensure that permissions to view their notebooks are set to allow the judges to view.
Note: Once a Digital Engineering Notebook link is uploaded via Robotevents, there is no prohibition from teams updating their Digital Engineering Notebook on an ongoing basis, even on event day. Notebook content is expected to change over time which is part of the Engineering Design Process.
