Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

8:00 AM - Doors Open to Teams

8:15 AM - Inspections Begin

8:45 AM - Drivers meeting and announcements

9:00 AM - Noon - Qualification rounds, Skills Opens

12:00  - 1:00 PM - Lunch break, Skills will remain open

1:00 PM - 3:30 PM - Qualification Matches

3:45 PM - Alliance Selection

4:00 - 4:30 PM Elimination Matches

4:45 PM - Awards Ceremony

5:00 PM - Tournament concludes**

*If all teams pass inspection before 9 am, we will start qualification rounds earlier. 

** We will do our best to keep things moving and get out of here before 5pm.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of cancellation due to weather, refunds will be issued if a makeup date is not found.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

  • Refunds will be issued if a makeup date is not found.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

  • Refunds will only be issued if a team is found to fill that spot. No refunds will be given for withdrawls less than 2 weeks prior to the tournament.
  • Regardless of reason for issuing a refund the $5 REC fee is not refundable.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging 

  • The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event.
  • Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
