General Info
The scrimmage/workshop would be on Saturday October 12 at Seaman High school. It would start at 8 am with the goal of concluding around 1 pm. Each team would get about 5 qualification rounds. If time allows, then we will schedule more rounds. Students would drop off their engineering notebooks and be given the chance to run skills as soon as their robots pass inspection. For the scrimmage, we are going to be trying out giving feedback by having students opt in for feedback on their engineering notebook and team interviews. At the conclusion of the tournament, we would give out some unofficial awards. Awards given out during the scrimmage would not qualify for a spot at state. To help make the tournament run as smoothly as possible, I would like coaches to volunteer as match referees, scorekeepers, or running the smart field computers.
Awards
- Best Emerging Notebook
- Best Drip (Best Team Attire)
- Highest Emerging Skills Score
- Highest Qualification Score Rank
- Best Food
For the entry fee, teams would be encouraged to bring snack food that would feed their team such as 3 bags of chips or 3 boxes of cookies. Students could also bring more elaborate creations such as cake and cookies or real food such as pinwheels or pigs in the blanket. At the conclusion of the tournament, we will have an award for the best food brought to the scrimmage.
