General Info
WELCOME TO SCOTT COUNTY!
The Scott County Robotics Showdown event is open to Middle and High School VEX VRC Robotics teams.
Thank you for signing up for our event. Please complete your payment one week before the event date. More information will be included in your registration confirmation email.
Participant Release Form: Participant Releases are Electronic again and need to be submitted by Oct 12th. The link is in the Document Tab.
Inspections: Coaches, Please help speed up our inspection time in the morning of by checking your students' robots prior to the day of event and update the firmware to the brain.
Team Meeting: Our Head Referee and his team of scorekeepers are also VEXU competitors. They are very knowledgable and experienced, and will follow all RECF guidelines. Please keep the student-centered policy in mind and encourage students to advocate for their teams at the field based on their own knowledge of the rules, being ready to reference the game manual if needed. All coaches and parents should be made aware of the spectator guidelines, and any game questions can be asked/answered during the team meeting.
Food: No outside food is allowed into the venue. Information about pizza orders will be sent the week prior to the event. Limited concessions will be available.
Physical Engineering Notebooks / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks should be printed and bound and turned in upon check-in at the event. They will be returned at the end of the event.

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.
For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

8:00 am- Inspection Begins and skill runs can begin after inspection
9:00 am- Drivers Meeting
9:30 am- Event Qualifying Begins
11:30 am-12:30 pm- Lunch (tentative upon tournament progress)

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If the event is canceled due to bad weather, teams will be notified by email. Teams may request a refund. However, please allow 6-8 weeks for processing of refunds.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
- All but 5.00 dollars will be returned to teams
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
- Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than one week before the competition. Refunds will be sent out from the event to teams who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through robotevents we must receive the funds from robotevents first, this sometimes takes 3-6 months. Refund from robotevents will deduct 10%.
Health and Safety Policies
All local health and safety guidelines will be followed as regulated by the Wedco District Health Department or mandated by the Scott County Board of Education.

Travel Info
IMPORTANT: Tentatively, we are planning to host this event at the new Scott County Middle School (formerly Scott County High School) because the availability of facilities at GCHS is limited. The venue could change prior to the event, however just note that all of our buildings are within a few miles' radius from one another, so your travel time will not be impacted. We will notify entrants of venue changes by email.
Judging Format
- All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
