General Info

Welcome to our second V5RC event of the year, "Battle in the Big Country - High Stakes" for middle school and high school teams. This is an invitational event so if you would like more information contact Larry Haney at [email protected] or call 325-733-7439.

This tournament will have two competition fields, one Skills field, and one practice field. We need two additional High Stakes field element sets. If your team is willing to bring a complete field element set to this competition, please email [email protected] or call 325-733-7439 before registering for our tournament and ATEMS Robotics will pay the cost of your team's registration. 

All team members attending this event are required to submit the REC on line consent form through Robot Events

We are very excited to hold this event at The LIFT Center. Doors will open at 7:00AM.  Registration and inspection will be from 7:30AM - 8:30AM. Practice rounds will start about 8:30AM and we are asking each team to complete at least one practice round on the competition fields to verify proper connection to the Smart Field controller.

Digital engineering notebooks must be submitted though Robot Events, no later than Midnight Central Time, Saturday, November 30th (10/30/2024)

Team interviews will start any time after a teams has passed inspection, will pause for the Drivers Meeting, and then resume.

Teams that have not passed inspection by 8:30 AM will be dropped from the schedule.

8:45 AM               Driver’s meeting

10:00 AM            Qualifying matches begin

12:00 PM            Lunch Break

12:45 PM            Qualifying Matches continue

SKILLS NOTE:   The Skills field closes at the end of the last qualifying match. This is a hard deadline.

                           Only teams currently in the Skills line at the end of qualifying will be allowed to complete their Skills run.

3:00 PM              Qualifying Matches end

3:15 PM               Alliance Selection

3:45 PM               Elimination Matches begin

5:00 PM               Awards Ceremony

Your help will be greatly appreciated and needed. This event could not happen without our volunteers.  Please arrive at 7:30 AM or the designated time discussed. 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather this event will be rescheduled, and/or refunds will be issued less the REC Foundation administration charge.

Refund and Payment Policies

Refunds will not be avalible for this event unless the event is forced to cancel and cannot be rescheduled.

 

Health and Safety Policies

The health and safety protocols will follow Abilene ISDs district requirements. 

  • At this time no district requirements are in place.

We hope to have Abilene ISD LiveStream this tournament and will post the liveStream link when it becomes available.

 

Judging Format

DIGITAL NOTEBOOKS ONLY: Teams who would like their notebook judged must submit a digital copy, though Robot Events, no later than Noon, Central Time, Monday, December 2nd. (12/02/2024)

INPERSON INTERVIEWS: Team interviews will start anytime after a team has passed inspection, pause for the Drivers Meeting, and then resume.
