General Info

Adelphi University Science & Technology Entry Program(STEP) is proud to host the "High Stakes" VEX qualifier. This will make the 10th consecutive year Adelphi STEP has hosted a VEX qualifier. The event will be located at the Ruth S Harley University Center (1 South Avenue, Garden City NY 11530) on the second floor.  Abbreviated as UNC, buses/cars can park in the adjacent parking lot (P2)

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, event may be postponed to later in the day. If event cannot occur on 2/15, Adelphi University STEP will refund organizations.  No other date is planned. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: All teams that have paid will receive a refund. 

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Please let us know a week beforehand to allow other teams entry to the event. A refund will be given if a team cancels by 2/10 end of business day

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.

Judges will be going to tables or ask students to head to the atrium or a quieter place to conduct an interview.
