DUE TO HURRICANE MILTON, THIS EVENT IS MOVED TO OCTOBER 26TH.

Apopka High School and Teams 550 are pleased to host this Fall event. Our goal is to provide a excellent experience to all our guests.  

Parking can be congested at times.  Please support our event with utilizing our concessions and amenities.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

7:30 am - Doors open to teams for pit setup 

8am -9 am – Inspections

8:30 - 10:00 Skills

10:15 am– Drivers Meeting

10:30 am to 12:00 pm – Qualification Matches

12:00 pm to 1:00 pm  – Lunch Break

1:00 pm to 3:00 pm – Qualification Matches

3:15 pm – 3:30 pm Alliance Selection

3:40 pm  to 4:40 pm – Elimination Matches

5:00 pm Awards

The event wraps up by 5:30 pm.  

Volunteer

Most volunteers for this event are all former Team 550 adults working in the engineering field or current college students. 

If you wish to help out let us know and if we are short staff we will definitely let other help out. 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

This event will only be postponed due to extreme weather condition and district policies.

Refund and Payment Policies

If you register and pay and are not able to attend, we will not be able to issue a refund.

If you register but don't pay your registration fee by the payment deadline (2025-10-4), your team(s) will be moved to the waitlist and the available spots will go to other teams on the waitlist.

In the event that this competition gets cancelled by the event partner, you will receive a refund for your registration fees.

 

 

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
