General Info

Collins Challenge is open to Middle and High School VEX Robotics teams. The event is a State Qualifying event. Teams from other states are welcome.

No outside food permitted. 

The cost of the event includes a pizza and a voucher for the concession stand for each team.

Concessions will be available and additional pizza will be available.

 

Digital notebooks only.  Physical notebooks will need to be scanned and uploaded into Robot Event by November 26, 2025.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event may be cancelled due to bad weather and will try to be rescheduled. Teams will be notified by their e-mail listed in robotevents at registration.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

  • A 50% refund will be processed for an event cancelled due to weather related emergencies.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • Refunds will not be given to teams cancelling less than a week before the competition. Refunds will be sent out around 6 weeks from the event who cancel in due time. If teams registered and paid through robotevents we must receive the funds from robotevents first, this some times takes 3-6 months. Refund from robotevents will deduct 10%.

 

 

Judging Format

  • Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Submission Deadline: Tuesday November 26 by 11:59 pm EST.
