General Info
Congratulations on earning a spot at the South Florida V5RC Regional Championships!
We are excited to see the regional championships return to Southwest Florida. As your team gets ready for the competition, please make note of the following information:
- Judging: Notebooks must be submitted electronically by 2:00 PM on Monday March 3rd. Interviews will take place in-person during the tournament.
- Robots: Please arrive with inspection-ready robots. Inspections will close promptly at 8:45 and teams that have not passed inspection at that time will not be included in the match lists.
- Agenda & Decorum: This is a Worlds Qualifying Event. Please conduct yourself in an appropriate manner and be at the correct queue table on time. Any team not ready at the start of their match will be marked as a No Show.
- Rules: Make sure you are familiar with the most up-to-date version of the rule book and official Q&A ahead of the tournament. All answered Q&A Topics are considered official rulings and will be applied at the tournament.
- Skills: The skills fields will close at the end of qualification matches. Once again, this is a Worlds Qualifying Event so practice proper time management. Teams must have a robot present when waiting on the skills line.
- Volunteers: We are always looking for volunteers to make this tournament run as smoothly as possible. If you have any parents interested in helping out, please contact Fred Rimmler at [email protected].

- Pit Guidelines:
- Power Outlets will be available in the Pit Area, but bring an extension cord or power strip for best access.
- There are no open drinks allowed in the pit area. Water Bottles and containers with closed lids are permitted.
- No cutting or grinding metal is allowed inside the venue. There will be an external door in the pit area that teams can use for cutting metal.
- Lunch: Lunch will be provided for teams with additional concessions available throughout the day.

- Parents & Coaches: Please make sure all atendees are familiar with the REC Foundation Student Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policies.

Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

4:30 – Qualifying Matches End - Skills fields will close at the end of qualifying matches.
4:40 - 4:50 – Alliance Selection
5:00 - 6:00 – Elimination Rounds
6:00 - 6:30 – Closing Ceremonies
Volunteer

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
The event may be cancelled or postponed due to severe weather emergencies (Tropical Storm, Hurricane, Flooding). Teams will be refunded in the event of cancellation.
The event partner will contact teams if the event must be postponed or cancelled. Teams should make sure their contact information is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.
Refund and Payment Policies
Refunds will only be issued in the case of an event cancellation.. Please only register robots/teams that intend to attend.
Due to the limited space for events, we will not issue a refund for any other reason.

The South Florida Regional Championships will be livestreammed. Details and Website information will be provided as we get closer to the list.
Judging Format
Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply. Please see the Remote Judging section of the Guide to Judging for more information.
- Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Notebooks must be submitted by 2:00 PM on Monday March 3rd.
