General Info
Want to play against the best of the best? The Battle for the Brass Boot, an Elite Invitational, on December 14 and 15. We started this elite event in 2019, trying to create the most competitive VEX event in the country. Every team at this event will be a contender for the State Championship in their home state. Preregistered teams already include the 2024 Indiana and Michigan State Champions (Boogie Woogie and the RoboDawgs). No push bots, everybots, or teams that are playing their first event. EVERY team will be a contender. A dozen qualifying rounds over two days, skills fields open for ten hours in the morning and evening, and no judging - this event is all about fast, hard, competitive play on the field. And competitve it will be, as teams play to take home one of the two traveling Brass Boot trophies. To make it more interesting, both Tournament Champions and the top three skills teams will receive a grant from our sponsor for half of their World Championship registration ($900). Yup, five teams will take home $900 checks to help cover their Worlds Registration fee. (Only one grant per team. If a team qualifies for more than one, the "extra" grant will be awarded to the next team on the skills list.)
This will be a High end event, but we don't want to take all your money. With a $200 registration fee and special negotiated hotel rates, we want this event to be accessible to every great team. Regardless of your budget. If you are contender in your state and want to attend, but find that the cost to attend is too high, reach out and talk with us. We have a limited budget to give grants to cover your hotel rooms, and we'll waive the registration fee. we want to see the best of the best battle it out before Christmas.
We'll play at the Grandville Robotics Competition Center, the only built-for-purpose robotics competition facility of its size in the country. With big pits, power in the floors, tons of spectator seating, and a fun holiday atmosphere, this will be an event you will never forget. The event will start at noon on Saturday, which means you can travel in that morning. (Doors will open on Friday evening and Saturday morning, in case you want to get an early start). We'll finish by 12:30 on Sunday and get you on your way home
