General Info
Welcome to the 9th annual Belmont Bot Bash V5 Tournament hosted by the Shaker Regional Robo Raiders!
Welcome!
The Belmont Bot Bash will be held at Belmont High School located at 255 Seavey Rd in Belmont, New Hampshire. Vehicles can park in front of the high school. Teams from outside the region are welcome; however, priority will be given to in-region teams in the event we have teams on the waitlist.
Details:
PIT AREAS: The Pit Areas will open at 7:30am. Teams may be located in either the cafeteria or gym. When you check-in, we will let teams know where their tables are. We will do our best to place tables close to outlets since we will not run any extension cords. Teams should bring extension cords in case they need power.
INTERNET: Access to the internet should be available; but as a precaution, it's recommended teams bring back ups of their files.
FOOD/BEVERAGE: Concessions will be available by cash, check, and either Venmo or Square. We will a variety of food and beverage choices. Coaches may also do pizza orders or order by slice. We will send an email closer to the event day to collect the orders.
SKILLS CHALLENGE: We will be cycling teams through Skills as quickly and efficiently as possible. Skills will open when qualification matches start and will end when the last qualification match starts. The Skills line will be cut off when the last match starts. Teams may have a student representative in line without the robot; however, if the robot is not at the field or the team is not ready immediately when it is that team's turn, the team forfeits their turn and must go to the back of the line. Teams should have their robots ready immediately (air up the pneumatics before their Skills turns and while another team is on the field). Depending on demand and the number of volunteers we have, Skills may run through Lunch and/or additional fields may be available. More details will be available closer to or during the event.
JUDGING: Judging will be available and in-person. First interviews will be timed at 8 minutes; second and/or third interviews may be longer. We will set up Judges Stations where teams will go to the Judges instead of the other way around. If teams want a first interview, they will need to work this around their match list schedule. Some questions the judges might ask:
- What does your robot do and how does your robot score points?
- How did you develop your robot design?
- What changes did you make to improve your design throughout the season?
- What was the most difficult challenge your team had and how did you overcome it?
- Please explain your autonomous strategies, how you used sensors, and describe any unique parts of your code,
- What improvements or strategies will you do in the future?
NOTEBOOKS: Digital Notebooks must be uploaded by 11:59pm EST on Thursday, January 16, 2025. If teams are interested in being a candidate for the Innovate Award, they must fill out the Innovate Award Submission Information Form. This form should be added behind the Cover Sheet of the digital notebook as Slide or Page #2.
