General Info
Jackson Area Robotics along with Madison County 4-H are excited to host the second annual VEX V5RC League in Jackson, TN. Our event will be held for 4 nights at the UT-TSU Extension Office and one night from the home of JAR, theCO.
This fall league will give teams the opportunity to test their designs and gain inspiration from one another in a low stress and fun environment. It will also provide an opportunity for teams to post skills scores to the World Skills Standings.
A league is an event format that operates a little differently from a tournament. A league can be thought of as a tournament in which the Qualifying Matches are broken into pieces during different days, each called Ranking Sessions. Matches played during Ranking Sessions feed into the overall rankings for alliance selection and finals, both of which occur at the last league session (called League Finals).
Teams do NOT have to attend every Ranking Session, however teams that participate in at least 60% of the total matches available will be ranked above teams that participate in less than 60% of the total matches available.
Registered teams will be contacted closer to the event with more details on venue, parking, and food.
Teams who register must be paid in full within three weeks of registration, unless other arrangements have been made with the Event Partner.
Teams should provide one volunteer per session attended- no experience required. All team members should plan to participate in clean up at the end of each evening.

Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

There are 4 ranking sessions followed by a finals session, for a total of 5 nights

Teams must attend the Finals Session to be eligible for awards.
Volunteer
Please plan to provide a minimum one volunteer per session attended. All participants are asked to assist in tear down and clean up at the end of the evening. The more hands on deck we have each night, the better the experience will be for all teams competing.
The Event Partner will be reaching out to registered teams for volunteer commitments.
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event of an emergency or inclement weather, email notifications will be sent.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Refunds will be issued in the amount paid minus the non-refundable $5 processing fee collected by Robot Events.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
As a general rule, refunds will not be issued. However, the EP reserves the right to issue a partial refund to teams on a case-by-case basis for unforseen circumstances that prevent the team from competing.
All registrations must be paid in full three weeks after a team registers unless arrangements have been made with the EP before registration. Unpaid teams will be moved to the waitlist.
