General Info

Welcome To The Ram Robotics High Stakes Harvest Kickoff MS/HS  

The Ram Robotic High Stakes Challenge Event is happening in Interlachen, Florida which is conveniently located near several popular attractions. Residents can take day trips to places like St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States, or the bustling city of Gainesville, home to the University of Florida.

  • Saturday: check-in and inspection, drivers meeting, practice fields open, pits open, skills open, qualification matches, alliance selection, elimination matches, awards, and closing ceremony.

Pit Area:

Our pit area will have power strips available. We will also have a full Game Field set up in the pit area for anyone wanting to practice on. There will also be a smart board in the pit area to monitor when teams compete.

Competition Area:

The competition area will have two fields set up for qualifications and one field set up for skills challenges.

Registration Information:

All participating teams must be registered with VEX Robotics and the Robot Events website and have an official team number before registering for this event. Tournament fees must be paid before teams are allowed to compete. Registration and payments should be made through the Robot Events website.

Food Options:

There are limited restaurant options in the area. We will have a concessions stand available with chips, granola bars, water, soda or gatorade. We will have a barbecue truck on site. Menu will be posted soon. Pre-orders will also be available soon. Please help support our event:

Competition Preparation:

All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.

  1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. Robots must use VEX V5 parts.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer

Volunteers and judges will need to arrive at 7:00 a.m. If you know anyone who would like to volunteer, please  fill out this formIf you have any questions, please contact Sergeant David Wettrich at [email protected].

All volunteers and judges will be feed lunch.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

All reasonable efforts will be made to inform teams of any cancellations due to inclement weather. Refunds will be given in event of cancellation.

Please contact me if weather is a concern, and please monitor the event status on Robot Events.com Cancellations will be posted there.

Refund and Payment Policies

Payment Deadline is 13 Nov 2024.

If your team has not paid by the payment deadline they will be moved to the waitlist.

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Full refunds will be granted in the event of a cancellation due inclement weather.   
Refunds minus $5 RECF fee if coach cancels before event day. 
 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds for no-shows on event day.

Judging Format

 

  • Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.
  • Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation no later than 15 Nov 2024 by 1200 noon via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. 
  • Our Judge Advisor is well-versed in the rules and fully prepared to guide the judging team through the meticulous process of selecting the top teams deserving of each award.
