General Info
Competition Preparation
This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.
1. Upload Engineering Notebooks to RobotEvents by 8:00pm on Thursday 12/12/24
2. Get releases submitted/signed and posted on RobotEvents. Read through the RECF's Game Manual and Resources page for all the information that you need.
3. Check the Vex Forum for official for rule updates and changes.
4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget:
- Goggles/Safety Glasses
- Spare parts & tools
- Batteries and chargers
- Programming cable
- Power strip
- Laptop computer
- Banners and other decorations for your team pit
- Giveaways if you have them
6. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
7. Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.
8. Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby. All metal cutting will take place in our designated cutting area. Students wishing to use the cutting area must provide adult supervision from their own coach/mentor/chaperone.
9. Access the REC Library or VEX Forum for troubleshooting and support

VEX Robotics Competitions could never happen without all of the awesome volunteers! Because of this, we are always looking for volunteers to fill many different roles. If you are interested in volunteering at this event please contact the event partner.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In the event that there is inclament weather on the day of the event all registered teams will be notified of a cancelation via e-mail.
We will also do our best to reschedule the competition for another day
Refund and Payment Policies
Event Cancelation
In the case that the event can not be run on the scheduled date we will try our best to reschedule; however, if we are not able to reschedule the event we will issue a refund to all teams registered.
Team Cancelation
Refunds will ONLY be issued if a team notifies the event partner two weeks prior to the event registration deadline.
All refunds are less the $5.00 fee retainded by RECF.
Health and Safety Policies
Teams are expected to adhere to the Safety Rules outlined in the High Stakes Game Manual (rules <S1> through <S4>).
All team members at the field must wear safety glasses
Cutting should only be done at designated cutting areas (wear safety glasses!)
Teams are encouraged to bring a first aid kit. Please connect with a event staff member if first aid materials are needed.

Maine V5RC Events are streamed live on the Robotics Intitute of Maine's YouTube channel.
Judging Format
Remote Engineering Notebooks: Teams should have their updated Engineer Notebook posted on RobotEvents by 8:00pm on Thursday 12/12/24. This will give judges some time on Friday to start reviewing notebooks.
In-Person Interviews: The Team Interviews will take place in-person the day of the event.
