General Info

Framingham Robotics Clubs are delighted to be hosting this V5RC High Stakes qualifying tournament. This tournament will qualify teams to Massachusetts Event Region Championships. Our event being held at Walsh Middle School, 301 Brook Street, Framingham, Massachusetts, 01701

The event date is: January 12, 2025

Our event will be held in a single level of the main wing with all spaces interconnected with dedicated hallways. Competition will be in Large Gym - spectators should use the main hallway to the Large Gym.  The Team Pit area is in the Small Gym, teams will be directed there upon arrival.  Cafeteria space will be open for spectators and team members to enjoy their food.  A concession stand will be in the Cafe lobby area.

Ample parking is available at Walsh Middle School.  Teams and those with limited mobility should use the driveway circle to unload.  Handicap spots are in the small parking area alongside the building.

Lunch will be provided to student team members and their adult coach.  An on-site concession stand will be available for those wishing to purchase light snacks during the day.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

9:00 am - Welcome and Game/Rules Overview in Big Gym
9:45 am - Qualifying Matches and Skills until 2pm - once last QM run, Skills are closed.
2:30 pm - Alliance Selections
3:15 pm - Elimination Rounds
4:30 pm - Awards
5:00 pm - Venue closes

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If venue is closed due to bad weather or any situation outside our immediate control and the event can not be rescheduled, refunds, minus event costs, will be issued within two months of event date.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: If venue is closed due to bad weather or any situation outside our immediate control and the event can not be rescheduled, refunds, minus event costs, will be issued within two months of event date.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: No refunds will be made after Registration closes, if team withdraws from event prior to registration closing, full refund will be issued within two months of event date.

Teams with unpaid balances on RobotEvents.com: will be placed on the waitlist the week prior to event, unless they have made payment arrangements with the Event Partner.

This event will be streamed live starting at 9am on WalshBot's YouTube Channel.

 

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.

Digital Engineering Notebook submissions must be posted on RobotEvents.com by January 3, 2025 to be considered for Judged Awards that require a Engineering Notebook.  Physical notebooks brought to event may not be considered in the Judging process.
