General Info

Welcome to Pioneer Robotics High Stakes Middle School Competition. We look forward to hosting you at Stillwater Junior High! 

1. We are happy to welcome students, parents, and coaches in our facility. However, we ask that you do not bring folding chairs as it will tear up our gym floors. There are plenty of bleachers available for seating. You can bring a stadium chair if you so wish for you bleacher seating comfort.

2. In addition, visitors are asked to clean up after themselves when in the school facility and before they leave.

3. Judging will happen onsite. Students should submit a their notebook at inspection on the tournament date, and be prepared for in-person interviews.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather and the tournament is unable to go as scheduled, an alternate date will be examined. And if an alternate date can not be scheduled, A refund will be issued. Each team(s) may select to apply their registration to a future event in which that team(s) has not already registered for.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

If the event is canceled due to not enough teams then all teams will be refunded thier registration fees.  If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions the event will attempt to be rescheduled, the $5 RobotEvents fee will not be included in any refunds.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Refunds will not be given except under the most unavoidable circumstances.  Be sure to check scheduling conflicts prior to registration.  In the case of emergencies, registration may be applied towards a future event hosted by Stillwater Robotics.  Please contact the event partner ASAP if something comes up, the $5 RobotEvents fee will not be included in any refunds.

Judging Format

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
