Welcome to the 2025 VIQRC State Championships at Sunset Ridge School!
Congratulations on qualifying to the Illinois State Championships! This event requires that you qualify at a regional Illinois event. This Championship is a qualifier for VEX World Championships. This tournament will have in-person judged awards, Teamwork Matches, and Driving & Programming Skills Challenge.
Illinois VEX IQ – Elementary School & Middle School have each been granted 1 World Championship spot:
1 Excellence Award Winner - Elementary School
1 Excellence Award Winner - Middle School
World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.
Registration Fee
Please process payment for registered teams as soon as possible. All payments for entry fees MUST be made in advance.
Concessions
Concessions will not be offered at this event. We encourage you to bring food, drink and snacks for the day.
Walk-up Teams & Walk-Up Skills
Walk-up teams WILL NOT be permitted to compete, either in the tournament or to run Skills Only. There are no exceptions. If your team wishes to compete, they must register before the registration deadline.

Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

IMPORTANT! If your team will be late, you must call the Event Partner (Primary Contact on the General Info tab). If your team is not checked-in on time, the match schedule will be run without your team, and they cannot compete. The match schedule CANNOT be run after the tournament begins.
9:15 am - Doors open, Registration, Pits, Inspection Open
9:30 am - Practice Field Open, Skills open on Skills Field & Match Fields as available **Inspected Robots Only!**
10:00 am - Check-in & Inspection Closes; Skills Closes
10:15 am - Opening Ceremony & Team Meeting – Everyone meets in the competition area
10:30 am - Qualification Matches Begin, Skills Field Opens
12:30-1:00 pm - LUNCH BREAK, Skills Field Closes
1pm - Qualification Matches, Skills Field Open
2:45 pm - Qualification Matches Completed, Skills Field Closes
3:00 pm - Finals Matches Begin (All Teams Play In Finals Matches)
3:30 pm - Final Awards & Event Closing
*Inspections must be done before competing. Please make every attempt to have inspections completed as soon as you arrive. No inspections will be allowed during the opening ceremony/event meeting.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If the weather makes you late for the event or prevents you from attending, please immediately call or email.
If the event is canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstance, it will be posted here and registered teams will receive an email.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Registration fees minus the $5 REC processing fee per team will be issued if the event is canceled.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
There will be no refunds for individual team cancellations.
Judging Format
All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
