General Info

We will have a concession stand serving snacks and hot food onsite (We will be offering pre-orders for either hot dogs or burger baskets on the morning of the tournament.), and Door Dash and/or Texoma Delivery can bring Whataburger, Braums, Dairy Queen, or Domino's (All located in Bonham, TX.) to our school.

Feel free to bring snacks or any diet-specific foods as there are limited restaurants/convenience stores in the area. 

We look forward to hosting your VIQC teams.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

7:30 AM - Doors Open to Gym and Pits, Check-In, Notebook dropoff, and Inspection Open

8:15 AM - Skills Field Opens

8:30 AM - Check-In Closes

8:45 AM - Inspection Closes

8:45 AM – Event/Drivers Meeting

9:00 AM – Qualification Matches Begin

12:00 PM – PM Break for Lunch

1:00 PM – Continue Qualification Matches

3:30 PM - Final Alliances Announced

4 PM – Elimination Matches and Awards

Volunteer

If you're interested in volunteering as a Head Referee, Scorekeeper Referee, or Engineering Judge, please email Mr. Nathan Melson, Robotics Director at [email protected].  He will gladly accept volunteers.

 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Due to the possibility of winter weather in January, if bad weather occurs, events will either be canceled or rescheduled. Coaches will be emailed in advance.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds in this case will be processed on a case-by-case basis. If a refund is issued it will not include the $5 Robot Events processing fee.  Payments must be made by competition day in order to compete in the event.  Teams who have not paid by check-in on competition day will be moved to the waitlist unless approved by the Event Partner ahead of time.  Communication is key to avoid conflicts.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Judging Format

Please Note:

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged In-Person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.  You may print these and place in a 3-ring binder for judging.
  •  Team Sportsmanship will be judged during the competition by observations made by judges.
