General Info

Welcome to this year's elementary Vex tournament!  We are located at 13726 N. St. Rd. 245, Lamar, IN 47550 (close to Holiday World).  This tournament is for students experiencing their first or second year of Vex Robotics and is open to all teams who have not won a tournament previously.  Most of the teams at our event will not compete at other events, unless they happen to win and participate in the state championship.  Our tournament offers the following:

  • in person judging
  • robot skills
  • engineering notebook judging
  • team interviews

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the tournament is cancelled due to bad weather, we will refund the registration fee minus the $5.00 for  VEX charges.  You will be notified the night before if we have to cancel.

If the tournament is held and you cannot come for some reason, refunds will not be issued.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

refunds wil be issued back to each school as soon as possible.  

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds wil be issued if a team chooses not to participate.  

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply. Please see the Remote Judging section of the Guide to Judging for more information.

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
