Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

1:00pm - 2:00pm - Check-In/Registration/Inspection

NOTE: All teams must be through inspection by 3:00pm. Also, please do not come into the building before 12:45pm.  We are hosting an elementary tournament earlier in the day and will not have space for additional teams/spectators until we are able to "flip" the facility from the morning tournament.

1:00pm - Fields Open for Skills Challenges

NOTE:  Each team will be able to run a maximum of 3 robot (driver) skills challenges and 3 programming challenges.  3 fields will be available for Skills Challenge attempts from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, but only 1 field will be open for skills challenges during qualification matches (2:45pm – 4:45pm) .  Teams should attempt to finish as many skills challenges before 3:10pm to reduce the amount of runs needed between qualification matches.  The Skills Field will close at the end of qualification matches (approximately 4:45pm).

1:15pm - 1:35pm - Drivers Meeting & Welcome

1:45pm - 4:45pm - Skills Field Open

NOTE:  Each team will be able to run a maximum of 3 robot (driver) skills challenges and 3 programming challenges.  3 fields will be available for Skills Challenge attempts from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, but only 1 field will be open for skills challenges during qualification matches (2:45pm - 4:45pm – or the end of the last qualification match) .

1:45pm - 4:45pm - Qualification Rounds

4:45pm – 5:00pm - Finals and Awards

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Teams will be notified as early as possible if it is determined that bad weather will cause a change in event-day plans.  In the event of a cancellation, every effort will be made to reschedule for a later date.  If teams are not able to attend the rescheduled date, entry fee refunds will be issued.

Refund and Payment Policies

Refunds will not be issued, unless the event is rescheduled because of a weather-related event.  In that case, refunds will be issued to teams that are unable to attend the new (rescheduled) date.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
