General Info

This tournamnet is designed for novice and/or first year teams, who have experienced no tournaments to very few tournaments. DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT IF YOU ARE NOT A NOVICE TEAM. Please use the following guide to see if you are qualified to participate in this event. If you answer Yes to more than 4 of the questions listed below, then you are not qualified to participate in this tournament. If you have further questions feel free to ask the event partner! 

  1. This is not your student’s first year competing. 
  2. Do your students have experience with building VEX Robots?Do your students have experience with competing in VEX Robotics?
  3. Have your students competed at a Regional Championship or a World Championship? 
  4. Have your students competed at a Regional Championship more than three times? 
  5. Have your students won multiple tournaments?
  6. Have your students won multiple judged awards in the past?

 At this event we will break down what a tournament looks like, what is skills, what is judging and any other questions that you may have! There will be NO JUDGING at this event, however we will provide information regarding the judging process to train teams and coaches. 

 

There is a survey that is required to sign up for this event; this is used to confirm that your team is qualified for the event. If it is found that your team is not qualified for the event, then you will be removed from the event and a PARTIAL REFUND MAY be issued at the DISCRESSION OF THE EVENT PARTNER. If you have any further questions, please reach out to the event partner. We hope to see you soon!

Agenda

6:30am: Doors Open for Volunteers

7:00am: Doors Open for Teams / Check-In Begins / Robot Inspection Begins 

 7:45am: Inspection Ends 

7:45am - 8:30am: Opening Ceremonies and Drivers Meeting <there will be a presentation that introduces teams to the tournament process>

8:30am: Qualification Matches and Skills Challenges Start

11:30 am - 12:00 pm: Lunch Break  

12:00pm - 1pm: Qualification Matches Resume

1pm - 2pm: Finals Matches and Awards 

2pm - 3pm: Clean Up 

 

 

Volunteer

We are always in need of volunteers for various roles listed below. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to the Event Partner!

Queing - ensure teams are at the queing tables before their matches start 

Skills Referee - help teams get onto/ leave the skills field. Score skills matches at the end. 

Score Keeper Referee - help score the main field matches.

Field Rest - help reset the game elements at the end of each match 

Clean Up - take down all game and field elements from the tournament 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event partner will contact teams if the event must be postponed. Teams should make sure their contact information is up to date on RobotEvents.com and includes both school and non-school email addresses and phone numbers.

Refund and Payment Policies

All requests for refunds must be made 2 weeks prior to the event. Refunds, if approved, will be processed within one month following the event. 

Payment in full is required 2 weeks prior to tournament or teams may be dropped by the event partner.
