General Info

Welcome to Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD's VEX IQ Code Clash Challenge!  We are excited to welcome teams from all across our district to the Nancy Watten Technology and Event Center! We are looking forward to a great day of competition and meeting new people interested in VEX Robotics. Be prepared with batteries, chargers, and your license plates.

Please read each of the following. Each of these will be adhered to with no exceptions

  • All attendees are expected to abide by the code of conduct 

    • Although we don’t expect there to be any violations during the tournament, the EP reserves the right to disqualify any person(s) and ask perpetrators to leave the premises. .  

  • All participants are expected to have the participant release form . (Spanish)  on file prior to competing.  Please verify that all your students have this form completed and it has been uploaded to your team’s account. These need to only be completed once per season for all events.

We request that any team that would like to be considered for Judged Awards, such as Excellence, Design, Innovate, Think or Create, submit a physical copy of their Engineering Notebook to the judges during interviews.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

*Skills closes at the end of qualification matches

*Please note that there will be no designated lunch time, due to the short amount of time we have for competition. There should be plenty of time for teams to eat etween matches. If after receiving the schedule, you find you will have trouble working lunch in, please let the EP know. 

*Please keep in mind that all times are approximate. Tournament schedule is subject to change throughout the day. We will adhere to the match number rather than match time, should we run ahead or behind. 

Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to a successful tournament. A tournament does not operate without our awesome volunteers. No prior experience is necessary. Please email Carrie Gooch to sign up.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather, updates will be made through email. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds will be given minus the $5 Robot Events fee.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds will be given. 

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges. If your team is using a digital engineering notebook, please print off a copy and bring it with you to the event.
