General Info
Thank you for registering for the Texas VIQRC Region 2 Championship - Elementary will be held at Caddo Mills High School on March 8, 2025.
Doors will open at 7:45 AM. While we will do as much preparation for the event the day before, there are always last-minute items to attend to, so please plan to enter the venue at 7:45 am.
Before the day of the tournament, email is the best contact method as we are educators who work with students all day. On tournament day, please get in touch with Orion Casper via the provided cell number.
Tournament Information:
Three game fields; One Skills field; and space for three practice fields will be available as teams can provide them. Please contact the Event Partner if you would like to provide practice fields.
Lunch:
Extensive concessions will be available.
Working on scheduling food trucks.
Pizza Lunch is available for preorder. Pizza must be paid for in cash on the day of the event.

How to prepare for the competition.
1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. The inspection checklist can be found here.
2. Check the official VEX forums for rule updates and changes.
3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on RobotEvents.com
4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.

Spare parts & tools
Batteries and chargers
Programming USB cable
Power strip
Laptop computer
Engineering notebook (if you have one, helpful for Judges, Design and
Excellence Awards)
Banners and other decorations for your team pit.
5. Be sure to read 101 Things You Should Know Before Your First VEX Tournament.
6. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
7. Prepare for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.
8. Remember that safety comes first, please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team, or others nearby as the venue is a very tight fit. Also, remember no grinding or other actions that create sparks.
9. Understand how the game will be played. VEX participants are more than welcome to watch the referee training videos before they attend a tournament.
10. Read through the Robot troubleshooting guide.
Payment:
Teams must have a status of "Paid" or "PO Processing" by February 28, 2025. Teams that have not submitted payment by then, will be moved to the Waitlist.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
If the tournament is canceled due to Emergency/Bad Weather the event partner and Caddo Mills ISD will work with RECF to reschedule VEX IQ Region 2 Championship - Elementary.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event, a Full refund will be provided
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event and then chooses to withdraw or not attend: NO Refund will be given.
