General Info

Welcome to the Hong Kong Tech Challenge Junior 2024. It will be held on 25/1/2025 at Hong Kong Science Park. Hong Kong Tech Challenge Junior is an important event for local schools to gain more exposure to Hong Kong Science and Technology education. In order to provide more comprehensive platforms for youngsters to practice and apply knowledge and skills in technology, Centre for Innovation and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Asian Robotics League work together to organize the "Hong Kong Tech Challenge Junior 2024-2025". We sincerely thanks for the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks and Mitsubishi Electric (Hong Kong) Limited in sponsoring the competition.

This year, the skills challenge will be moved to 27-28 December,2024 & 3-4 January,2025 at HKIVE (LWL) Campus in order to let teams have more time to attend. Teams should visit https://cloud.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/webform/view.php?id=13697492 and choose their available time slot.

Remember the following key dates:

17 October,2024                               Kick-off Ceremony

(Please note that we cannot score unidentified file, and there is a chance of a loss of scores for your engineering notebook. Please pay attention!!!)

Remarks:
A.    To avoid losing team’s original copy, we do not accept on-site hardcopy or original copy submission. However, you can still bring them to the judging session and present them to the judges.
B.    We do not accept multiple submissions, please submit your engineering notebook once only (as the final version).  We will print out all submissions after Jan 23 deadline, hence late submission is not accepted.
C.    Due to a large number of teams, there are 2 separated submission links of engineering notebook. Please submit according to your competition division, and ensure to rename your file according to specific format: Team Number_Organization Name.pdf
D.    Please do not submit your engineering notebook via Robot Events.com as we may not have access to your file.
E.    Teams who have submitted their engineering notebook will have priority in Judging Session.
F.    Judge will call out teams with prior engineering notebook submission to complete judging session first, then gradually open for queue up upon judge announcement, but please noted that the queuing period will be very limited. Please queue up when your teams are ready for the 5-10 mins interview before Judge interview closing time (the discussion may include the introduction of competition strategy, robot design, etc.).
G.    Since the tournament schedule will be randomly assigned by computer on the day of the competition, the judging session will take place simultaneously with the tournament, and must be completed before the finals according to the competition rules. Therefore, teams should pay attention to the schedule and participate accordingly. No teams will be accepted after the Judging Session deadline.
H.    Judging will offer Cantonese, English and Mandarin option if possible.
