Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

A weather-related event cancelation will be made in accordance with the Downingtown Area School District's policies. This event will have a makeup date. Makeup date is TBD. In the event that the makeup date is also cancelled, teams will be contacted as early as possible and event registration fees will be returned minus the $5 RECF processing fee.

Refund and Payment Policies

Refunds will only be made if the event is cancelled by the Downingtown Area School District (i.e.Inclement Weather, COVID-19, etc.). Refunds will NOT include the $5 processing fee assessed by Robot Events. Refunds will be coordinated thru the billing contact for the team. For refund questions, email: [email protected]. Registration fees will not be refunded for teams that register but choose not to come.  

Per RECF Guidelines:

• Teams that qualify for an Event Region Championship on or before January 31, 2025, will have two weeks to register and pay by credit card, check or purchase order
• Teams that qualify for an Event Region Championship on or after February 1, 2025, will have one week to register and pay by credit card, check or purchase order 
• If your team hasn’t paid by the registration fee due date, your team will be placed on the waitlist. 
• If there is a special situation, please inform the event partner ASAP.

Travel Info

Our event will be held at the Downingtown Area School District Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center.

The Downingtown Area School District, Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center (DASD MC6GC) has plenty of parking for cars and buses.(as shown in the map below)

Look for the Vexmen Robotics Event signs to help guide your path!

For easy access to the building, we recommend that all vehicles enter through the buses only entrance for the event.  (Bus only is only enforced during the school day)

When entering the building, use the door farthest to your right on the front of the building.

Note that Marsh Creek is located behind the DASD Shamona Creek Elementary School (Blue roof building as shown in the photo below.)

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks must be submitted digitally for evaluation via the link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Please make sure your robotevents team profile has a link to your notebook.  This must be completed by February 22th, 5:00PM.  

This is the link that contains instructions on how to upload your team's digital notebook. Please notice that notebooks are submitted through the team's RobotEvents.com logins by one of the team's registered contacts, and may be to either a native digital format or a scanned PDF copy of a paper notebook.
