General Info

Welcome to the 24-25 Barron County VEX IQ League.  The league is open to all registered elemenary and middle school VEX IQ robotics teams competing in the Rapid Relay game this season.  

Location:  The league is being hosted by the Spartan Robotics Club at St. Joseph School at 128 W. Humbird St. in Rice Lake, WI.  Teams/coaches are asked to park in the south lot and enter through the south door to the school. The league will be held in the school gym.

Dates: The league will take place on 4 Wednesday nights spread throughout the winter.  League nights will take place on Wednesday November 6th, Wednesday November 30th, Wednesday December 18th, and Wednesday, January 22nd.  Final matches will be held on Wednesday January 22nd.  

Times:  The gym will be open to teams staring at 5:15 pm.  Teams must checking by 5:35 pm to be entered into qualification matches for the evening.  League nights will end at 7:30 pm.  

Skills:  Teams will have opportunities to compete in skills each League evening on a seperate skills field (up to 3 drivers runs and 3 autonomous runs per team).

Practice Fields:  Each night there will be 2-3 practice fields, 1 skills field, and 1 competetion match field.  Any organization wanting to bring a practice field can do so but should contact the league director for further directions.  

Participation:  Teams must compete in over half of the league nights to avoid having their ranking drop when running finals matches.  

Judging:  No formal judging is planned for this league.  We are working on trying to provide informal judging experiences for the students to help prepare them for tournament style judging.

Code of Conduct

Agenda

Each Wednesday evening league night we will following the schedule below:

5:30 pm---Teams will check in at an inspection table in the St. Joseph School gym.  A Skills field will be open upon check-in.

5:45 pm---A match schedule will be created with teams checked in.  

5:50-7:20 pm---3-4 Qualificaiton matches will be held per night.  A skills field will be simultanously run durng this time.

7:30 pm:  The skills field will close for the evening

 

On the last league night,  finals matches will take place.

 

Volunteer

Please consider helping out the league organizer, Jeremy Pete Peterson, by serving on Wednesday evening league nights as a parent/community volunteer.  Contact Jeremy at [email protected] if interested in helping out as an inspector or Scoring Referee.  

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The league orgnanizer will contact team coaches if inclement weather arrises causing us to cancel a league night.  

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

A full refund will be given to all teams.  

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds will be given out.  

 

Judging Format
