Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Agenda

Agenda

1. Registration and Check-in

  • Time: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM
  • Location: Main Entrance
  • Details: Teams check in and receive their schedules and materials.

2. Opening Ceremony

  • Time: 9:15 AM - 9:45 AM
  • Location: Main Stage
  • Details:
    • Welcome address by the event coordinator.
    • Introduction of participating teams.
    • Overview of the competition rules and format.

3. Team Practice Sessions

  • Time: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
  • Location: Practice Field
  • Details: Each team has designated time slots to practice on the field.

4. Competition Matches

  • Time: 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
  • Location: Main Competition Field
  • Details:
    • Teams compete in multiple rounds of the Teamwork Challenge.
    • Each match lasts 60 seconds, followed by a brief review and feedback session.

5. Lunch Break

  • Time: 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
  • Location: Cafeteria
  • Details: Teams can relax and discuss strategies.

6. Skills Challenge

  • Time: 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM
  • Location: Skills Challenge Field
  • Details:
    • Teams take turns competing in the Robot Skills Challenge.
    • Each team has a set time to score as many points as possible.

7. Judging and Scoring

  • Time: 4:30 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Location: Judges' Area
  • Details: Judges finalize scores and prepare for the award ceremony.

8. Award Ceremony

  • Time: 5:15 PM - 6:00 PM
  • Location: Main Stage
  • Details:
    • Announcement of winners.
    • Distribution of awards
    •  certificates to all participants.

9. Closing Remarks

  • Time: 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Location: Main Stage
  • Details:
    • Closing remarks by the event coordinator.
    • Thank you to participants, volunteers, and sponsors.

Volunteer

We will use teachers who teach STEM in the schools that we work with.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Necessary measures will be put in place concerning emergencies and bad weather. We will have volunteers stationed for any emergency, and the event will be postponed if there is bad weather. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: There will be a refund.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: No refund

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
