This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer

YES!  We do need volunteers!  Volunteers are the heart of every VEX competition--without them the event simply cannot function.  In a perfect world, every robot team would provide at least 2 adult volunteers at every event.  There are lots of different roles that need to be filled, with varying degrees of expertise and physical activity.

PLEASE have one or two of your team parents email me at [email protected] with the subject "Volunteer for STEM SQUAD Tournament" in the subject line.  I will get back to them ASAP, and thanks in advance!!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Due to the many demands on our facilities, we will not postpone this event. In the event of extreme weather (a hurricane, for instance) the event will be CANCELLED and your registrations refunded (less the fees incurred by robotevents.com).**

Notification of cancellations will be made through the contacts provided with your registration through robotevents.com and the RECF. Please make certain all your contact information is correct and current to stay informed!!

**From Robotevents.com: There is $5.00 USD fee, per registration, that will be withheld to cover website maintenance, processing fees, reporting, accounting, and system updates.

Refund and Payment Policies

Refunds will ONLY be issued in the case of an event cancellation. Please only register robots/teams that intend to attend. Due to the limited space for events, we will not issue a refund for a 'no show.'

All payments must be recieved by 1/17/25. Teams who fail to submit payment by this deadline may be replaced by a team from the waiting list. Teams that register after 1/17/25 will have ONE WEEK from the time they register to remit payment to REC. Please contact the event partner with any questions or concerns.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
