General Info

The event will take place in the cafeteria and gym of Kenneth Henderson Middle School. Each team will be provided a table for set up and staging. 

This is a qualifying tournament so it will count towards the State Tournament. We will offer driving and autonomous programming skills at this event. We will be awarding Teamwork Champions, Skills Champions, Design, Judges, and Excellence Awards.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

We will do our best to stick to the schedule but based on the number of teams times may change.

7:45am Doors open, Registration, Pits Open

8:00 am Inspections begins, teams may drop of engineering notebooks at the judging table 

9:00 am Practice Fields and Skills Field open to inspected teams only

9:20 am Driver and Coaches meetings

9:30 am – Noon  Qualification Matches, excellence and design award judging time

12:15 pm Skills Field Closes

12:30 pm – 12:45 pm  Finals Matches

1:00 pm  Awards and results

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of weather or other emergency, the event will be cancelled and teams will be notified as soon as possible.

 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

In the unlikely event that the EP cancels the event, teams will be refunded their registration costs.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Teams that notify the EP with at at least 24 hour advance notice will get a refund of their payment minus the $5 processesing fee deducted by RobotEvents.

Teams that cancel with less then 24 hours or do not show up will not receive a refund unless as determined by the Event Partner that there are extenuating circumstances (these will be rare).

Judging Format

 

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
