General Info

Date of event:  Saturday December 14, 2024

Location:

 Crescent Elementary School. 5001 E. Gerda Drive, Anaheim, CA 92807

This event is put on by Crescent Elementary School Robotics. This will be the 6th time Crescent has hosted a tournament. All proceeds from this event are used to sustain the Crescent Elementary School Robotics Program. 

This event will have skills tournament and live judging.

We will most likely have team pits outside, so dress accordingly. 

We hope to have some practice fields for teams but if you need a field please bring your own and we will do our best to fit as many as practice fields we can. 

Breakfast, lunches and snacks will be available for purchase.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Agenda

Event Date: Saturday, November 2,, 2024

7:30 AM - 8:15 AM:      Doors open to teams to check-in with inspections and notebook drop off

8:15 AM:                      Judges will start interviewing teams

8:25 AM:                      Drivers' meeting

9:15 AM:                      Match play begins (please check the schedule and be ready to play!)

11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Lunch break

12:00 PM:                    Match play resumes

3:00 PM:                      Final matches

3:30 PM:                      Awards ceremony

4:00 PM:                      After scheduled matches, ALL pit areas are to be cleaned, tables taken down and event cleared.

If you would like to volunteer during the competition, please email Richard Ireland ([email protected]) to let him know.  It would be helpful if you would include in your email some volunteering activities that you would like to do. If you know of any engineers or STEM professionals, please have them contact us if they would like to help out in any way!

Help is always needed to quickly clean up at the end of a session so that EVERYONE can leave as early as possible.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Only in extreme circumstances will this event be cancelled due to weather. In this circumstance, refunds will be made available minus any potential costs charged by the RobotEvents. com website. 

Be sure your contact information for the day of the event is up to date in RobotEvents.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:  Refunds will be issued if a new date cannot not be re-scheduled

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: Refunds will be issued up to 14 days prior to this event if a replacement team is available to fill the vacated spot. Refunds will not be issued after that except in the case of very extenuating circumstances at the event partners discretion. Please be aware that event partners have fixed costs and rely on team registrations to meet these obligations..

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
