General Info
Welcome to the first Sioux Metro League! League events will take place each month starting in October with the League Finals on Thursday, February 6. All League events will be held at Harrisburg South Middle School.
If you are interested in Joining our League please add your team to the waitlist and send us a message. The league is open to all teams in the Sioux Metro Area
Competition Preparation
This event is sure to be a fast-paced and exciting event. All teams should come prepared for competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared.
1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so that there is ample time for adjustments. The inspection checklist can be found on the Documents tab.
2. Check the official VEX IQ forums at robotevents.com for rule updates and changes.
3. Carefully read all of the information contained in the tournament posting on RobotEvents.com
4. Pack for the event the day before the day of departure. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget.

Laptop computer
Engineering notebook (if you have one, helpful for Judges, Design and
Excellence Awards )
5. Be sure to read 101 Things You Should Know Before Your First VEX Tournament found on the Documents tab, and check out this aticle
6. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament.
7. Remember that safety comes first.
8. Understand how the game will be played. VEX IQ participants are more than welcome to watch the referee training videos before they attend a tournament. The referee training videos can be found on the Volunteer page at roboticseducation.org.
9. Ensure that you have the latest version of firmware for the IQ brain. The latest version of VEXOs can be found by downloading and installing the update tool from VEX Robotics: https://www.vexrobotics.com/vexiq/resources/vexos
Participation and Consent Form
All team members, coaches and adult mentors should fill out the online consent form which is good all season and for all RECF run events. A link to the instructions for online consent form can be found here.

Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Teams MUST be checked-in by 6:05, as the Match Schedule will be run at that time and CANNOT be re-run. If your team is running late, call the Event Partner or the match schedule will be run WITHOUT your team.
Volunteer
Our tournament is 100% dependent upon volunteers. We appreciate everyone who is able to help and many volunteer responsiblities require no previous knowledge or experience. Whether you can volunteer for an hour or the whole event, we would appreciate your help!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
The tournament will go on unless the interstates are closed for bad weather.
If the event is cancelled, then "CANCELED" will appear in the title of the event.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
If the tournament is canceled for any reason a refund less a $5 RECF fee will be given to all teams.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
If a team or group of teams has already registered and cancels there will be no refund given. If you are nervous about losing your entry fee, please wait to register.
