General Info

In collaboration with the Innovation and Technology Minister, our company has organized the VEX Robotics Competition National Final in Ethiopia since 2019, now preparing for its 4th Season. With a history of participation in international events like the VEX Robotics Championship in the USA since 2015, we are excited to host the 2024/2025 National Final at Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from January 23–25.

We welcome students from all schools in Ethiopia and across Africa to participate in this prestigious competition. More than just a contest, the VEX Robotics Competition National Final offers a platform to cultivate essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, nurturing the development of future innovators.

Volunteer

Volunteering for the African Robotics Championship is an amazing opportunity to see advanced robots in action, as the event often features technology from the future.

 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

For the safety of all participants, including children, in case of an emergency or bad weather, follow instructions from staff and stay close to designated safe areas.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

A refund could be requested up to one month prior to the event date because at that point the venue reservation and other preparations will be completed. But there is a cancellation fee of $50 USD.

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply. Please see the Remote Judging section of the Guide to Judging for more information.

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
  • In-Person Engineering Notebooks: Engineering Notebooks will still be submitted in person the day of the event to be evaluated by judges.
  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
