General Info
Save the date - the 2024/25 New Zealand VIQC National Championship for Elementary School will be held in the Palmerston North Convention Centre.
Kiwibots are proud to bring this event for our tamariki, with the support of Central Robotics, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Foundation, Smales Farm, Universtiy of Auckland, Manawatu Chamber of Commerce, Tech Step, and Palmerston North City Council and Events.
Check in and Inspection: 3:30pm - 6pm on Friday 6 December (except by prior arrangement)
Competion: Saturday 7 December, and Sunday 8 December 2024, 9am - 5pm

Design / Engineering Books :
Please submit design books online through Robot Events link BEFORE check in & inspection. These must all be ONLINE! Engineering Notebook criteria and guidelines can be found on RECF: Design Notebooks template.
Registration Fees
There is a registration fee of NZ$200 for this event. (Please contact Kiwibots if this is a problem.)
Kiwibots will invoice you directly for this.
This EVENT is for Elementary School Teams only.
Student - Anyone born after May 1, 2009. Eligibility may also be granted based on a disability that has delayed education by at least one year.
Students are the individuals who design, build, repair, and program the Robot with minimal adult assistance.
• Elementary School Student - Any Student born after May 1, 2012. Elementary School Students may “play up” and compete as a Middle School Student.
• Middle School Student - Any eligible Student that is not an Elementary School Student.

We will endeavour to send registered teams an email if event is cancelled due to unforseen weather events.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Teams will get a full refund if the event has to be cancelled due to unforseen circumstances.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
If you choose to withdraw we are unable to process refunds. However, you will receive 50% off your next purchase through the Kiwibots shop.
Health and Safety Policies
The New Zealand Robotics Charitable Trust work in conjunction with the venue for a full Health and Safety plan.
This plan is in line with the NZRCT: KIWIBOTS Health and Safety Policies.
Judging Format
- Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
