General Info

The 2025 Utah VEX IQ Robotics Competition Rapid Relay Middle School State Championship has been granted 4 VEX Robotics World Championship spots.

If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the state’s next highest ranking team from the State Championship Skills Rankings receives the invitation. World Championship invitations from the Skills Standings are offered after the results of the State Championship have been posted at robotevents.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

* Each team will be allowed a maximum of 3 skills runs for both Driving Skills and Programming Skills.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If we are unable to have the tournament due to weather, you will be notified and the tournament will be re-scheduled. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: Refunds will be given minus the $5 non-refundable Robot Events fee. 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: no refunds will be given.

Event payment is due on February 21, 2025.

Event hosts should continually assess, based on current government guidelines, whether to postpone, cancel, or significantly reduce the number of attendees when necessary.

This event will be livestreamed. The livestream link will be provided closer to the event date. 

Judging Format

The judging format for the State Championship will follow the following format:

  • Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Notebooks must be submitted by Friday, February 21, 2025.
