General Info

Welcome to our new season starting event!

We are happy to present the 'Hot Mess Express' tournament in September.  This event is designed to get your teams out and running early in the season.  Some key information:

  • It's FREE!  No costs for this event.  We know that this early int he season teams are struggling, so we wanted to offer an event where students could participate easily and talk to other teams to jumpstart their ideas.
  • No Judging, this is a Tournament and Skills only event.  At this point in the season, no team is going to have a notebook that would qualify for Excellence, so we are go judgeless for this event.
  • Robot not yet complete?  Bring it!  This is a great way for new teams to learn the basics in a real tournament environment.  As long as your robot passes inspection and can move, we are all in for students to come and learn.

Welcome to Vex IQ @ Fayetteville.

We are excited to welcome everyone back for the 2024-25 season.  As always, we will try to run a fun and relaxed event.

Volunteers are welcome, and can sign up at FayettevilleRobotics.com

REMINDER:  This is a tournament/skills only event, no Judging.

What to Expect

  • 1 Provided Practice Fields

  • Pit tables organized per SCHOOL (quantity depends on number of teams your school brings)

  • 1 power station (Bring your Own Charger)

  • Competition Field will be raised approx. 20" off the floor

Inspection

  • Size will be determined with a 2' x 6' field portion.

  • Robots will be placed on the field portion, and a sizing tool will be run across the robot to ensure the 15" height restriction.

  • To avoid crowding, please send only 2 team members to the sizing table

  • Once Sized, a second inspector will complete your inspections paperwork

  • Reminder:  Zip Ties are NOT legal Vex IQ components, even for cable management.  Robots with zip ties will NOT pass inspection.

  • Reminder: Cables and Wires ARE PART OF YOUR ROBOT.  They cannot extend beyond the robot maximum size at any time.

  • Reminder:  Robots cannot exceed 15" tall at any time.  If you have moving parts on your robot, they MUST be inspected at maximum extension.
