General Info

Welcome to the Third Annual DEFO VEX IQ Tournament at Harvest Intermediate School in DeForest, WI!

 

Middle school and elementary teams will compete in VIQRC Rapid Relay, hoping to earn a trophy and a spot in the Wisconsin VIQRC State Championship. Top teams will also be invited to compete at the CREATE US Open in Council Bluff, Iowa.

Harvest Intermediate School, DeForest Area Middle School, and Indian Mound Middle School co-host this event.

This is a blended tournament with elementary and middle school teams.

There will be skills matches and onsite judging.

There will be onsite concessions.

Judging

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews will be judged in person on the event day. Physical notebooks will be accepted the day of the tournament. Digital notebooks will need to be printed and brought with teams..Prepare for your interviews with the judges and read the Judge's Guide. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament.

Engineering notebooks

Physical copies of design notebooks will be accepted for this tournament. Digital notebooks will need to be printed and turned in day of.

We do not plan to cancel this event. If the weather is terrible, we will move the start time to Noon. Check your team email and the Robot Events page for updates on delays or cancellations.

Details about qualifying spots at events are still being determined and will be posted in October.

Participation and Consent Form

A completed form for all participants must be uploaded to robotevents.com prior to the tournament. Team leaders will need to check that all team members attending the event have completed the online consent form prior to the tournament. We do not plan to cancel this event. If the weather is terrible, we will move the start time to 11:00am. Check your team email and the Robot Events page for updates on delays or cancellations. 

Refund and Payment Policies

Payment is due 2 weeks prior to the event.

Cancellations earlier than two weeks prior to the event may request a full refund, less the RobotEvents $5 handling fee. Teams that cancel later than two weeks prior to the event will not receive a refund, unless it is determined by the Event Partner that there are extreme extenuating circumstances.

Any teams that register less than two weeks before the event must pay at time of registration.

If the event is canceled due to circumstances outside of our control, a refund will be issued to teams minus the $5 RobotEvents processing fee.

Health and Safety Policies

Due to the changing nature of Covid we will update this section closer to the event. As of August 2022, masks are optional.
