General Info

The event will take place at Challenger Intermediate Schooll in the main gym. The robot inspection table will be located at the north entrance of the school. Each team will be provided a table to serve as their pit on the east side of the gym floor.  During matches, teams will report to the staging tables for each match. Driving skill and programming skill challenges will be available during qualification matches and are the responsibility of each team to complete at apporopriate times.

This is a qualifying tournament for the State Tournament. We will be awarding Teamwork Champions, Skills Champions, Design, Judges, and Excellence Awards.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Our expected schedule is as follows:

  • 7:30 - Doors Open
  • 8:00 - Robot inspection table is open
  • 8:45 - Referee meeting
  • 9:00 - Qualification matches begin
  • 1:00 - Finals matches
  • 1:30 - Awards presentation

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of weather or other emergency, if we are not able to postpone the event to the next weekend; the event will be cancelled. Teams will be notified as soon as possible.

Refund and Payment Policies

Teams that need to withdraw from the event before the event deadline and produce an invoice showing payment will be refunded, minus a $5 processing fee, in full at our earliest convenience.  Teams that withdraw between the event deadline and the day of the event will receive NO refund, unless as determined by the Event Partner that there are extenuating circumstances (these will be rare).

In the event of a weather postponement, the event deadline will be shifted to 3 days after teams are initially informed of the postponement.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. If teams use a digital notebook, please bring a printed copy for the judges the day of the event. Please organize the pages in the correct order and if possible, put in a binder or report cover.
